Why UAE Corporate Tax Deadlines Matter

The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) enforces strict deadlines for corporate tax registration, filing, and payment. Missing these dates results in administrative penalties starting at AED 10,000 and can escalate significantly.

Key Corporate Tax Deadlines for 2025–2026

Tax Registration Deadline

All businesses with taxable income must register for corporate tax. The registration deadline depends on your license issuance date:

  • Licenses issued before March 2024: Registration was due by May 31, 2024
  • New businesses (2024 onward): Must register within 3 months of incorporation
  • Free Zone entities: Must register even if qualifying for 0% rate

Tax Return Filing Deadlines

Corporate tax returns must be filed within 9 months of the financial year end:

  • December 31 year-end: File by September 30 of the following year
  • March 31 year-end: File by December 31 of the same calendar year
  • June 30 year-end: File by March 31 of the following year

Tax Payment Deadlines

Tax payments are due on the same date as the return filing — 9 months after your financial year end. There is no separate payment deadline.

Penalties for Missing Deadlines

  • Late registration: AED 10,000 penalty
  • Late filing: AED 500/month for first 12 months, AED 1,000/month thereafter
  • Late payment: 14% per annum on unpaid tax
